Hudson's 1st Birthday is today but his party will be on Saturday.

Myriah and Tim arrived in the States safely yesterday.  We had fun hanging out them on Hudson's first birthday.

Hudson is 1 Today!!

One year ago today, I woke up in the middle of the night (just before 3 in the morning on June 19, 2012), thinking I had to go the bathroom. But when I got out of bed, my water broke. I wasn't really in labor but we went to GBMC and they admitted me. As a little Maine girl, I was very intimidated by the big city hospital. Then they told me my little boy's heart beat wasn't regular. To say I was nervous and scared was an understatement. But we had Daddy/David there beside us (me and Hudson). We prayed and, after help from some drugs, I was in labor for just a few hours. Our precious son was born with the umbilical cord around his neck, but praise God was a healthy little spit fire. He was 6 pounds and 6 ounces but doubled his weight and just kept on adding. I think he went from skinny to chubby in days. He is strong like his daddy and uncles, worships his brother Henry, he is very independent and he's extremely charming. We can't remember our family without you precious little Hudson David Umstead. We thank God for you every day. Happy 1st Birthday, Budzy Bear!

Happy Father's Day to David

Our sons are so blessed to have such a devoted father.  We are all blessed to have a Heavenly Father who loves us unconditionally and doesn't repay us what we deserve.  His grace, His Power, His love, His blessings continue to amaze me and humble me.  The Creator of the Universe numbers the hairs on my head.  And He has given me such a wonderful family.  Grateful.

1st Birthday Preparations & Henry's New Operation

Working on some projects for Hudson's first birthday party in a week.  He turns 1 on Wednesday.  Very hard to believe.  So blessed.  So.  

Henry has moved onto from the Free Farm Produce Stand to the Library business.  He is selling me stuff from his library collection.

Henry and mommy had a few hours alone today.  We got his hair cut and had a lunch date at Chipotle (Henry's choice).  He went up to each table individually and struck up a conversation with them and pretended to record what they were eating.  He was so cute.

We played outside this afternoon.  Our new neighbor has a little boy who is almost two.  His name is Liam but Henry calls him Leo.  Henry gets so excited when "Leo" is home because he lives with his mom most of the time.  Henry also loves to talk to his dad and calls his dad "neighbor".  It's very cute because every five seconds Henry says, "Hey, neighbor."


After going inside and taking a bath with his brother, Henry set up a produce stand in the living room.  He announced a 30 seconds to "Come get your fruits and vegetables at the produce stand!"  We asked where he got his supply and he told us Target.  We bought several items (oranges) from him on several different occasions.  He's quite the pushy salesman.



All the while, this one who just learned to walk, is desperately trying to sweep the floor.  Kind of a Valerie/ Sonja Sue gene all mixed into one.  And he's quite the little screamer when he doesn't get his way.
